摘要:Through 1961-1973 more than 100 microbiological stations had been set up for studying the ecological distribution of heterotrophic bacteria in continental shelf of the East China Sea (28-32°N, 122-124°E). Samples were collected from bottom muds and sea waters in different depths. Heterotrophic bacterial population in sea water were counted by incubating the membrane filter on nutritional sea water medium. The number of heterotrophie bacterial colonies growing on the membrane filter ranged from several to hundreds per 40 ml sea water. The result of our investigation showed that the density of bacterial population in sea water samples collected from the area near the coast and estuary was generally higher, but the higher density of bacterial population had also been found in some samples collected from the area farther south,i.e. the open sea. It is interesting to note that these samples characterized by increasing bacterial population were regularly linked together and concentrated in some limited zones. In this case the distribution features of heterotrophic baeteria ean be used as an indicator for the dynamic distribution of some kinds of organic matter.According to the result of microbiological investigation, the hydrological structure in this area of East China Sea are more complieated than in the North.
About 1300 strains of heterotrophic bacteria were isolated as pure cultures from the sea water and sediments. It was found that the biochemical reactions of these isolates are more active than that of isolates from open sea. All isolates were classified according to Bergey’s Manual of Determinative Bacteriology. Most of them belong to the genera: Pseudomonas, Vibrio, Aeromonas, Alcaligenes, Caulobacter, Flavobacterium,Micrococcus, Bacillus, Brevibacterium, Arthrobacter and Corynebacterium. We found that the Bacillus strains were the dominant bacteria and widely distributed in the sediments of continental shelf. It is our opinion that the Bacillus strains can be used as an indicating microorganism for studying the sediments of continental shelf.According to the result of our study we believe. that this investigated area of East China Sea has been under the serious influence of the continent.
摘要:The distribution of phytoplankton over the continental shelf of the East China Sea bears close relationship with the distribution and movement of water masses.Based on the quantitative distribution and number of species appeared from observed stations of the investigated area, the phytoplankton may be grouped into four communities as follows:
摘要:The present paper deals with the Medusae colleeted from the East China Sea by the Institute of Oceanology, Academia Sinica, during 1959 and 1975-1978.A total of seventy-nine species belonging to Aothomedusae (8 species), Leptomedusae(15 species), Traehymedusae (4 species), Narcomedusae (3 species) Siphonophorae (42 species), Scyphozoa(2 species), and Ctenophora (5 species) are. identified. Of these, Rosacea plicata, Amphicaryon acaule, Vogtia glabra, Sulculeolaria monoica, Lensia conoidea, L.cossack, L. challengeri, L. hotspur, L. tottoni, L. meteori, L. fowleri,Ceratocymba sagittata, Nausitho punctata and Pelagia noctiluca are recorded for the first time from China waters and Rosacea plicata, Amphicaryon acaule, Vogtia glabra,Sulculeolaria monoica, Lensia conoidea, L. campanella, L. fowleri, L. challengeri L.hotspur, L. tottori, L. meteori, Eudoxoides mitra, Ceratocymba sagittata, A byla haeckeli, Abylopsis eschsholtzi, Nausitho? punctata and Pelagic noctiluca are recorded for the first time from the East China Sea.
The Medusae fauna of the East China Sea is composed mainly of warm-water species(about 70.8% of the total number of species), and the rest are neritic warm-temperate species.
The Medusae of the East China Sea is dominated by Diphyes chamissonis, Muggiaea atlantica Pleurobrachia globosa and Aglaura hemistoma, of which the first three species distributed mainly in the waters off Zhejiang coast, Aglaura hemistoma distributed mainly in offshore waters.
The number of species of the Medusae of the East China Sea decreased with the increasing of latitudes.
On the basis of the pattern of their latitudinal distribution, the Medusae in this region may be divided into three ecological groups: (1) eurythermal and low-salinity form, (2)high-temperature and low-salinity form, (3)high-temperature and highsalinity form.
A comparison of the species composition of the Medusae fauna of the East China Sea with those of neighbouring waters shows that the East China Sea, fauna is related more closely to the South China Sea than to the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea.

摘要:A study of sea anemone specimens collected by the R/V Jinxing of the Institute of Oceanology, Academia Sinica during the oceanological exploration in the East China Sea. in 1975-1976, yielded one. new species; the deseription of which is given below:sp.nov.
摘要:Kinestoskias oblongata sp: nov.(text-figs. 1-6)
Colony consists of a tubular stalk and a typical palm-like branch whose end is not curved. The branch consists of two rows of alternative zooids. The tubular stalk is 80 mm. long, and is a kenozooid with thin membranous wall, uniformly wide throughout the portion above the proximal end. From the base of the stalk are given off minute rootlets. At the distal end of the stalk, near the primary zooid of the proximal end of the branch, the stalk lumen is expanded into membranous aperture, a portion of the distal end of which is raised toward the frontal surface, on the dorsal surface. The wall of the stalk is arched. It is to this are-like area that a large pyriform structure is attached. The attachment plane of this structure has the same curvature as that of the tubular wall. The structure is broader basally than distally and is connected with the proximal end of the primary alternative zooid of the palm-like branch by a chitinous joint. By another such joint the proximal end of the second alternative zooid in the proximal end of the branch is also connected with a small conical structure attached on the disto-dorsal edge of the above-mentioned arc-like area. The fifth alternatively arranged zooid distal to the stalk takes part in the bifurcation. Zooids are oblong, narrower proximally, their distal end sloping slightly and obliquely toward outer distal corner, usually with or occasionally without a small spine(not jointed at the base),inner distal margin round; their dorsal surface is convex and smooth. The outer proximal side of each polypide has a columella-like process, to which tip are attached the muscles; musele fibres are rather strong, penetrating into the lateral and dorsal wall of the polypide which is large and occupying about the anterior or more than half the length of the zooid. The lophophore is small, tentacles about 24 in number. Avieularia are small, attached to the outer side of the middle of the proximal half in a zooid. They are of the elongated type, their base is narrow, their profile is nearly straight, their rostrum is short and inconspicuously hooked, their mandible is simple and triangular. Usually most of the avicularia extend to the frontal surface of the zooids. Ovicells are broader than long, attached to inner distal corner, obliquely covering the surface of the neighbouring zooids. The eetooecium is separated from the entooecium by a space. The entozooecium is marked by a longitudinal line or slit perpendicular to the ooepore, and by many stripes parallel with the ooepore.
This new species bears a resemblance to Kinetoskias elongata Harmer 1926. In the. latter species the zooids are elongated, the avicularia are located cephalad of the midpoint of a zooid, the ovicells are marked only by the radiating lines. In this new species the zooids are oblong, the avicularia are located caudad to the mid-point of a zooid and the ovicells have peculiar stripes.

摘要:The post-larvae of the lanternfish were collected during 1975-1976 by the R/V“Jinxing”'from the continental shelf of the East China Sea.
This report deals with the distribution and morphology of the post-larvae of 7 species of Myctophidae. They are Diogenichthys panurgus Bolin,Myctophum asperum (Richardson) Gonichthys barnesi Whitely, Diaphus theta (Eigenmann et Bigenmann),Diphus lutkeni Brauer, Ceratoscopelus, townsendi (Eigenmann et Eigenmann) and Benthosema pterota (Alcoek). With the exception of Diaphus theta and Benthosem pterota the five others were never recorded before in Chinese waters.
A key for identification of the post-larvae is presented..
The occurrence of these fishes in the East China Sea, particularly Diogenichthys panurgus, Myctophum asperum, Gonichthys barnesi and Diaphus lutkeni are governed by the environmental changes, especially by fluctuation of the Kuroshio.
摘要:In June and July, 1978, the research vessel “Jinxing”of our institute made a synthetic oceanology investigation to the Okinawa trough and adjacent waters. Some deep-sea fishes were obtained in the bottom trawl (Agassiz trawl)when the collections of benthos were made.
In this paper 14 species of deep-sea fishes, belonging to 14 genus, 12 families and 9 orders, are reported. The morphological characters of these species are descriped briefly and illustrated.
