Pectinidae is a rather large family of marine Pelecypod mollusk. Owing to the deliciousness of its adductor muscles (the dry products called "gan bei" in China) , this group of mollusk as the marine products is well known in the wor1d today. In our country the biology of two common edible scallops, Chlamys (Azumapecten) farreri and Chlamys (Mimachlamys) nobilis were studied in detail on the reproduction, growth, as well as the artificial breeding and cultivation. But up to the present time, the reports of Pectinid species and their distributions along our coast are still rare. The present paper dealing with 3 species which belongs to the subfamily Amusiinae is the second part of the studies of Pectinidae along China coasts. The samples of these species were collected by the Institute of Oceanology, Academia Sinica after liberation. Among the 3 species identified, Amusium pleuronectes pleuronectes is found more abundant in the South China Sea and in the rather deep water 16-85 m down. Amusium japonicum formosum is a rare species on1y found in the rather deep water off the coast of eastern part of Guangdong Province and Taiwan Province. Amusium japonicum balloti is also a rare species main1y found in Beibu Gulf in the depth from 10 to 40 m and it is recorded for the first time from Chinese waters.
