摘要:Two different populations of gametophytes of L. japonica were used to study the biological effect of Co60γ-radiations and the different radiosensitivity. They were derived from different lines of sporophyte after four years of inbreeding. One population came from a mature sporophyte characterized with no margin, while the other population from one with very narrow margin.
It was observed that the biological effect of Co60γ-radiations was comparable to that of X-radiations. High doses of radiations killed many gametophytes. The gametophytes derived from the sporophyte without margin were found to be much more sensitive to Co60γ-radiations than those from the sporophyte with very narrow margin. It was suspected that the difference in the observed radiosensitivity was due to differences in heredity.
摘要:According to our former observation, low doses of X-radiations had some stimulating effect on the growth of gametophytes of L. japonica. In order to verify this conclusion four different populations of gametophytes from different lines of descent were used in this investigation.
The young sporophytes developed from the low-dose-X-irradiated gametophytes all grew significantly bigger than the control (Tables 1-2). The stimulating effect was seen to maintain up to the adult stage of sporophyte (Tables 3-4). It was previously found that the faster rate of growth was due to the faster rate of cell division occurred in sporophytes developed from low-dose-X-irradiated gametophytes.
摘要:A method of comprehensive utilization of Laminaria japonica had been suggested previously [3], on the basis of which further studies were carried out in greater details。
摘要:In 1956一1957, experiments were conducted on the studies of growth and development of Laminaria japonica (vernacularly known as Haidai) in a bay of a small island belonging to the Choushan archipelago at the Chekiang coast, in order to determine whether it was possible to carry on commercial cultivation of Haidai in the East China coast. The sea water there has been found to be exceptionally rich in nitrate contents.
摘要:In the studies of the species of Gracilaria from Hainan Island,South China Sea many Gracilaria-like specimens are included which after examination has proved to be the representative of a new genus of the Family Gracilariaccae.
