Since in recent years artificial cultivation of Laminaria japonica has been practiced in large scale on a great part of the China coast, it is now possible to consider utilizing this plant as the raw material for algin manufacture. 1n order to furnish some basic data to the algin manufacturers, some experiments dealing with the extraction conditions were carried out and the following results were obtained.
