The present paper suggests taking the sea level corresponding to the accumulative frequency p=0.14% (one hour per month) as the chart datum. The BPF Method is simplified to obtain a method for calculate chart datum and sea level thus obtained is called the near-lowest sea level. A comparison of this method with several currently used methods shows that the nearlowest sea level has the advantages of convenience in calculation and better stability of the results.
