In this paper, the characteristics of the tides and tidal currents in the Jiaozhou Bay have been analysed on the basis of the data observed. The tide of Jiaozhou Bay is of semidiurnal type. The low water inequality is more remarkable than the high water inequality. From the mouth of the Bay to it's closed end, the tidal range and high water level increase gradually,whereas the low water level decreases.Correspondingly, the duration of the raising tide decreases and that of the falling tide inereases, whereas the intervals of the high and low waters increase gradually.
