It is one of the current worldwide interest to explore new energy source from the ocean. More recently, emphasis has been placed on offshore high energy envirommental survey: The authors have made a preliminary study hased on site observation in the immediate proximity of the Chengshan Cape, Shandong. This paper attempts to discuss 1) the construction of current in the immediate proximity of the Chengshan Cape, and 2) the statistics of the measured current velocity. We have also found that a couple of cells seem to occur on the north side of the immediate proximity of the Chengshran Cape,and that “ear-shaped” region may be uncontinuous on the east side.
