The recent sedimentation rates and sediment flux based on 210Pb activity of five sediment cores in the Liaodong Bay have been determined. 210Pb dating shows that the low rate of sedimentation is about 0.068 cm/a and the high rate of sedimentation is about 1.39 cm/a. The flux of sediment is from 0.082 to 1.60 g/(cm2.a).210Pb distribution, which is controlled by material source and hydrographic condition,is reflective of the sedimentation and the sedimentary envi-ronments in the last hundred years. Using the 210Pb dating, the sedimentation rates and material source in the Liaodong Bay have been discussed.
