Ruditapes philippinarum distributed in the coast of the Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, East China Sea. and South China Sea lives in the inter-tidal zone of shallow water about 10m in depth where salinity is usually 30.8-32.0, and temperature, 2℃-27℃. It is most densely distributed in the Liaoning and Shandong coasts where it is usually found living in silty-sand(?0.004-0.063mm) bottom. It reproduces in spring and autumn in the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea, but in the East China Sea and South China Sea, only in autumn. The< 1 year age group is composed mostly of individuals having shell length of 3.5-7.5mm, and the 4-year age group, ahell length of 17.4-21.6mm,24.5-33.7mm,33-43.8mm,and36-49.6mm.
