This research on the geochemical characteristic of paleoriver channel sediment, using X ray fluorescent spectrum，and on the contents of K. Ca, Fe, Mn, Cr, V Cu, Zn, Pb, Sr. Y and Ba in the fine particles (?＜0.063mm) of the Late Pleistocene section of the sediment of 4 core samples obtained from the paleoriver channel of the Huanghai Sea and Bohai Sea area was conducted to gain knowledge on the sources of the sediment. The results showed that the geochemical characteristics of the paleo-huanghe River, Paleo-changjiang River and paleo-yalujiang River sediments were different; that the abundance and ratios of some elements in the paleosediment were similar to those of the recent Huanghe River sediment, which meant that the Huanghe River is the main source of the paleoriver sediment in the studied area.
